Also it seems to me that the creators of the Simpsons are more educated in sexualities than most people as they used to claim that Smithers was pansexual (which I find is a topic many people have trouble understanding if they even know of it), or at least did in an old commentary. They make a point to make him a not so religious character so for him to think of saving it for marraige would be weird too.
He wants her to respect and care for him, but never seems to have sex as the motivation. My reasons being that he never seems to care too much about relationships, and when they showed him having one in the future he said 'I think we're ready to go all the way' and when his girlfriend said she was ready to have sex with him he was confused that she'd think that and told her he meant marraige. I'm obsessed with the simpsons and lately I've been wondering if Bart was asexual.
